AUSTRALIA — Construction is progressing smoothly on Keyton’s Sunrise Beach Village, a premium retirement living community set to redefine coastal retirement on the Sunshine Coast.
With an on-site display suite now open, the project is on track for stage one completion next year.
The village’s design, crafted by local architectural firm Blackburne Jackson, seamlessly integrates with its unique location between beach and bush.
Laura Ronchi, Director at Blackburne Jackson, explains that the design incorporates “a coastal aesthetic with natural materials and colours as well as maximising natural light and airflow” to reflect the area’s sense of place.
Keyton and BlueCare have demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental stewardship through several initiatives:
- An Australian Native Plant Program has facilitated thousands of community plantings
- Over 200 grass trees from the site have been preserved for future landscaping
- A $2 million rehabilitation program has transformed three hectares of degraded land at nearby Girraween Nature Refuge into protected bushland
- One thousand she-oaks, the preferred feed trees for glossy black cockatoos, have been planted along with hundreds of other native species
Upon completion, Sunrise Beach Village will offer:
- 122 high-quality independent living retirement homes
- A mix of two- and three- bedroom apartments and villas
- Resort-style amenities including a Community Clubhouse, heated swimming pool, private theatre, e-bike hire, and gym
Nathan Cockerill, Keyton’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasises the village’s potential, stating: “It’s a place that exemplifies the Keyton difference reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional lifestyle communities where residents can live healthier, happier more connected lives.”
The village is strategically located adjacent to BlueCare’s Sunrise Beach Residential Aged Care facility, allowing residents to age in place.
Natalie Smith, BlueCare’s General Manager of Retirement Living, highlights the partnership’s vision: “Our partnership with Keyton, who is developing and operating Sunrise Beach Village on behalf of BlueCare, is built on a foundation of quality, care and trust.”
Sunrise Beach Village is set to launch in January 2025, promising a thriving, connected community where residents can enjoy the best of nature and the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
