The highly anticipated $300 million Putney Wharf Residences mixed-use waterfront development has been officially launched, transforming the historic Halvorsen Boatshed into luxury homes and restaurants along the Parramatta River.
Joint venture partners Abadeen Group and PERIFA, along with Phoenix Property Investors and Mitsubishi Estate Asia, unveiled their vision for the premium lifestyle precinct on 2 November.
The project boasts 300 metres of absolute water frontage and will feature 67 luxury apartments and townhouses, waterfront dining, retail spaces, and a 36-berth marina.
Designed by acclaimed Sydney architects SJB, the development will offer three distinct residential components:
- The Halvorsen’s: 19 oversized apartments in the restored heritage-listed Halvorsen’s Boatshed
- Waterview Terraces: 18 three-storey, four-bedroom terraces
- The Residences at Putney Wharf: 30 apartments in two new three-storey buildings
The development will also feature a spacious 213 sqm four-bedroom penthouse with panoramic harbour views.
The project aims to alleviate the shortage of marina berths in Sydney Harbour, with 36 berths designed to accommodate boats between 12 to 18 metres.
Michael Jarvin of Advanced Marina Management highlighted the rarity of off-the-plan waterfront apartments with strata-titled marina berths, adding to the development’s exclusivity.
Abadeen Group’s Chief Operating Officer Joe Tack emphasised the project’s importance in restoring and preserving a significant piece of Sydney’s boating history.
The site, formerly home to the Halvorsen family’s successful boat-building business, has been closed to the public for several decades.
PERIFA Managing Director Fabrizio Perilli described Putney as a “hidden harbourside gem,” comparing the development’s potential to the prestigious Woolloomooloo Wharf.
With development approval secured, construction is set to commence soon, with completion expected by 2027.
Pricing for the residences starts at approximately $2 million for two-bedroom apartments, $3.5 million for three-bedroom apartments, and $4 million for three-bedroom terraces.
The Putney Wharf Residences project marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Abadeen and Versatile Group’s PERIFA, aimed at transforming urban landscapes and creating vibrant, community-centric spaces.
