Brookfield Multiplex has been appointed by Greengate to deliver the $80 million St Patrick’s Green Aged Care and Retirement Village at 42-48 Chapel Street, Kogarah in New South Wales.
The new 21,000 square metre development will include three buildings set above a two level shared basement car park and will comprise 105 independent living units, as well as a 92-room residential aged care facility that has the capacity for 100 beds.
The village will feature a communal lawn green and colonnade, commercial kitchen and laundry, resident café and terrace, lounge, theatrette, dining, hair salon and gym, as well as rehabilitation and training facilities.
Mr David Ghannoum, Regional Managing Director NSW at Brookfield Multiplex, said the St. Patrick’s Green Aged Care and Retirement Village was a welcome addition to its extensive experience constructing aged care facilities.
“We are delighted to be delivering another project to meet the high demand for aged care facilities in NSW. We commenced work on The Terraces in Paddington late last year and are currently about to complete the Mark Moran seniors living village in Vaucluse,” said Mr Ghannoum.
“Brookfield Multiplex has worked collaboratively with Greengate over the past 18 months to complete the early works and reach contract close.”
The site neighbours St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School and is positioned on the former Bethany College site, where Brookfield Multiplex have recently completed the decommissioning of the old College buildings to make way for the new St Patrick’s Green development.
This marks Brookfield Multiplex’s second project for the Kogarah area this year, with construction already well underway on the $307 million St George Hospital at Gray Street, Kogarah.
Construction of St Patrick’s Green Aged Care and Retirement Village is scheduled for completion by late-2017.
